Hello fellow members, future members and guesties alike!
To start off, I would like to welcome you all to Rattus, and thank you for joining to make it a great place for ratty lovers to RP.

As we're just starting off, we're kinda low on members at the moment, but I hope that doesn't hinder the great fun we could have.

A little bit about me:
I go by Hoax on here, I live on the east coast and my house is pretty much a petting zoo. I have five dogs, Jynxi, Judas, Loki, Griz and Dexter. (Griz and Dexter aren't really mine, but Griz lives with me and Dexter is my boyfriend's dog.) I have two cats, Zero and Piper. And two male Betta fish, Red Fish and Blue Fish (very original, I know xD).
I plan on moving to the west coast in the near future, but that may not be for a few weeks or more.
I currently do not own any ratties, but I have in the past when I was younger. JD and Halo, who were sister fancy rats.
I have discussed the possibility of adopting some with my boyfriend. The new house will have more room and Griz will be leaving us to go to his forever home, so we may end up adopting two female fancy rats from a rattery in Cali. (I think the boys smell a bit)
Umm, what else.. Oh, I'm kinda obsessed with green, if you haven't noticed. It took me a few tries to find a color that wouldn't make the green blinding, but I think it works well.

Hoax! Nice to meet you :3 I feel like I need to thank you a billion times over for creating this place - it's not every day you find a rat rp, not to mention one so well thought-out and organized.

I'm Scarlet, formerly known as Alacazam. Not quite sure why I changed it, guess it was just time for something new :3 I'm an animal lover (obviously) and over the years our households have been petting zoos too XD I've been through five different dogs, four cats, a snake, a turtle, a couple of parakeets, and 11 rats - Easter, Preeko, Junior, Angel, Pepper, Salty, Twix, Oreo, Bellatrix, Penny, and Jinx. All girls too, because yeah, the boys smell a bit. Plus their balls gross me out a little. I haven't had any rats at all though since Bella died last year, but only because we got our kittens Sampson and Binx <3 I sure do miss having the little critters though.

Heyyy, I live on the west coast! SoCal ^^ It's quite lovely, if 57430967502678 times more crowded than reasonable capacity. But I'm used to it. Tip: if you can drive on California freeways, you can drive just about anywhere :3

Just some brief stuff about me:
I'm attending community college, attempting to decide on a major so I can transfer to university asap. The big ones for me right now are film and graphic design but I'm gonna take some fun classes and see what else I like. I work at an amusement park taking tickets and, as of next weekend, selling tickets. Money-handling freaks me out but I need a change of pace. I'm a total dork, I'm addicted to Pokemon games, I have a fetish for black cats, Woodstock is my favorite Peanuts character, and horse movies make me cry.

Yep that's about it ^^
(funny how I can write all this on a whim but I can't for the life of me get started on my four page paper for tomorrow night's class)

You're quite welcome. I was looking for one on RPGC, but NONE were there. So I went and made Rattus.
When we move, we'll be living in SoCal, LA County. I'm a bit iffy about driving on their highways, even though I've driven in DC and Baltimore on a few occasions.
Zero's a black cat ^^. I got her from a farm when she was teensy.

And Scarleeeet, it's so weird not to call you Zam XD I'm still kind of getting over calling you Missy, omgz xD IF that was you >.> My memory is kinda hazy on that. But, yes, I agree wholeheartedly with Scarlet, Hoax, like I said in my PM. I've been looking for a rat roleplay for agesss. And I'm so happy I've finally found one! <3

Hope you don't mind if I intro myself a little too x3 I'm Mourge~ Live on the East Coast, more specifically Florida. Have been meaning to visit Harry Potter world in Universal but I haven't had the time.

Any way, I'm currently in the local college as well [they actually became a 'college' instead of community just like, 2 years ago xD] studying in their Pre-Vet program, then transfering out to a larger Uni in hopes of being a Veterinarian.

My house has also been a zoo in the past x3 I have 1 dog, 3 cats (again) and 2 rats (Hannibal and Fishy), though we used to have 2 rabbits, 3 cats, Snakes, an Iguana and plenty of mice <3 I say 3 cats twice, because about a year ago we had to put down our beloved G.C., a feral cat we had for 10 years. The last 5 years or so he would let you pet him, groom him, and snuggle him (kinda xD). ... I ramble too much about my pets XD

My three cats are Smokette, 16 year old black kitty <3 Raskal, my 6-8 year old Maine Coon Mix that my friend found at her church as a kitten X3 and our newest addition who wandered into our garage just a month or so ago, Gatsby Goldsteinburgfinklefarb. (don't ask xD) This cat though...he's like a /dog/. Seriously, greeting us at the door, following me around the house. Such a little baby <3 And he's getting quite fat XDD Eating us out of house and homee.

I swear I'm usually not up this late/early in the morning. >>; Nearly 4AM for me buuut my excitement at finding this place slapped me awake all over again.

I go by Pesty. I love more than anything to RP non-human entities; my greatest experience being with wolves, dogs, horses and birds. I do love rats. Trying rats will be fun...I have nine years of honest RPing [started with pen and paper] under my belt. And still going strong.

I love video games. You all should know this right now. ._. Video games, animals, music and massage. Really random but there it is. Me in a nutty nutshell. Preferably walnut. Walnuts are delicious.

...it's nearly 4AM, I honestly can't tell you if I'm always this loopy or not. :'D

What else...ah...I live in Northwestern Washington of the USA. Yaaay. *waves wimpy mini flag* I'm currently a bagger at a grocery store but as of last month completed a year long program of intensive massage training. so glad it's over holy fffff I hope to take my licensing test sometime next month and will hopefully be an official licensed massage therapist mid-winter.

Sadly, I've never owned rats. I would like to but my mother has convinced herself we will all get the black plague if I bring rats into the house. That and her evil cat would eat them just to spite me. We don't get along. >/ I really miss having pets. My stepfather is a jerk and doesn't understand that I'm a 30-year-old trapped in a 19-year-old's body and am totally capable of nurturing another entity. He's a cheapskate and says we don't have the money. I keep reminding him that uh I make my own money and he'd never see any of my possible pets. [so set on two female rats or two male parakeets; I've had budgies before SO WONDERFUL]

I used to own the parakeets until the female died while I was at school from shock after she couldn't pass an egg. >: Neo was a gorgeous sunshine budgie with a green belly and she ALWAYS attacked people for touching her cage. She always sang when I played Harvest Moon, she loooved the music and would freak out if she heard chirping. Her mate, Wraith, a blue boy, was a doormat and did everything to please her. He was amazing but I gave him away to a better home. It was my junior year of high school back then and I was seriously distraught after Neo died. She was my first "real" pet that I bought with my own money and everything. Sadly I have no pictures of her or Wraith.

Then there was Tessa AKA Miss Daisy. I know it looks like she has no tail in that pic, but she does! A lovely shorthaired tortoise shell print cat. We got her in 1997. It was not love at first sight. I was a snot-nosed brat and would chase her, scream and yell, cause I thought it was damn hilarious at the time. xD; Later on I felt horrible. Then I got older, got boobs, hips and a butt, grew shy and quiet...and she stayed with me because my stepfather brought home a puppy. We practically lived in the basement together and I loved studying with her curled up on my back or right on my thighs with her forelegs on my butt. Glad all that curve was being put to good use! She was always purring near me and never let me out of her sight. If I was upstairs too long she'd come up to find me and yowl. It broke her heart when I was in Germany for the summer three years ago. My mom told me she walked around miserably, meowing and looking in all the rooms I was usually in.

When I came home I wasn't allowed to leave the house and I didn't. because of that crazy cat, I missed her too gosh Just as with all animals, Tessa knew when I needed to cuddle. She knew when I was scared because I was SO SMART and just HAD to watch that horror movie before bed. I miss that big tub of lardy love. I don't have pictures of this next cat, but Twister is a Russian Blue breed. Very...very wild. As a kitten she would attack Tessa so I'd stomp and growl YEAH NOT WEIRD RIGHT to spook Twister. Tessa was a coward. She fled from spiders, from dust bunnies and if we had company, we could never find her. So I would protect her from Twister and thus began my rivalry with that horrible gray cat. we only get along when NO ONE else is in the house it's weird

Sadly, Tessa's kidneys got the better of her. In the winter of 2009 during the holiday break I noticed she was acting strangely. She wouldn't lift her head when I called for her and she kept crawling in weird spaces that she usually avoided. I heard her wheezing sometimes and it scared me. You never know fear until you hear your baby wheeze, y'know? >: I knew there was nothing we could do for her at that point. She was too weak to even jump up into bed with me or jump onto the table to her food bowl. And forget the stairs. If I had to go upstairs I carried her with me or she'd cry. I kept begging my mom to take her to the vet to have her put down, but of course she was optimistic and insisted Tessa would spring back soon. Christmas Eve I woke up to more wheezing but it was violent. Tessa got stuck in a small space in the wall and she was panicking because she was stuck. By the time I pulled her out she went into seizure and we took her to the vet to put her down. It took me a long time before I forgave my mother for waiting. I did love having Tessa and hope to maybe have another affectionate, fat kitty someday again. fat love is the best and you know it

I'll try getting pictures of Twister at some point for you guys. Really REALLY did not mean to ramble about Tessa, but I loved her dearly. -w-

And that puppy? So obnoxious and adorable. Tillie is a pure breed American Cocker Spaniel. Not that she shows it. Her IQ has me convinced she's some inbred mutt, but I love that goofy girl. She's about nine years old now and is getting an aged white mask on her face.

I purchased a bearded dragon a year ago and named him Pogo, derived from his breed's scientific name, Pogona Vitticeps. Because I am a science nerd. >/ Fear me. Due to poor breeding he grew sickly easily. The vet found a cyst in his beard and when they began to remove it his body went into shock and he wasn't able to recover. I'm sticking to mammals and avians as pets...although part of me wants a snake. *shot*

I used to RP on Solia Online but...it got stupid for better lack of term. I've gotten lazy when it comes to Gaia Online...I tend to stick to genre boards now. Like this one. :3 Which I am really super excited to make a character for/take over a canon. Currently I'm involved in;

-one wolf RP site; one of two co-owners and with 15 wolves no I'm not eccentric at all but I am so not doing that many OCs anywhere else again
-two Harvest Moon RP sites; simply a member on either. Using 3 basic OCs for either because Pesty is lazy and sometimes recycles posts
-a medieval fantasy site; simply a member and trying to be the newsletter staff person thinger don't type at 4AM kiddies

Annnd don't be surprised if I make a gay rat. Really. Don't be. It'll be fun, I promise. :3

I'm sorry about your losses, Pesty. =[ Sadly the passing of pets are part of the deal when you open your heart to animals.

Last post two months ago? I'm going to post anyway and hope someone's around to play.

I'm Orlington, which you can bastardise however you see fit. As a filthy Victorian, I am obliged to like fancy tea, fancy hats and fancy rats.

I have three rats living in my dining room. I lost my babygirl Petal today, so it's not by chance that I ended up here, but I've still got Bonnie and the boys, Zeus and Nelson. I'll always want rats around - my planned future pet plans involve more rats (and probably some breeding), a cream GSD and funny looking chickens once I move out from my suburban houseshare and into my own home. I work in a little pet store, and am studying an animal care course to be... something. I don't know what I'm doing with my life, I'm just trying to get some sort of qualification and experience. ;_; Maybe I'll start an animal boarding service, or design something really amazing for animals.

I'm not a terrible artist. I have terrible music taste. I never got over the Pokémon craze. I believe couscous is the food of the gods. Unfortunately, I'm not a writer and I haven't roleplayed for a long time, so I apologise in advance for short posts. I'll be off to the workshop ~

Latelatelate reply, but welcome to Rattus Orlington! 8D It's always great to have another animal lover on board, and one who wants to work with animals as well! <3 I'm currently studying in pre-vet medicine, but I still haven't decided if that's the /perfect/ fit for me in working with animals.
