|General Appearance|

Physically speaking, Murphy is a very mediocre rat. He's not small, nor is he very large. He sits quiet nicely in the 'average' range of the spectrum, and is in well enough health. Depending on the seasons, his weight can vary from slightly underweight to ideal, but, again, generally hangs somewhere in the middle. Being genetically a mix of lab and true wild rat, he has gained a number of genetic benefits as well as defects.

Most notably on the outside is his fur. Rather than taking after his wild born father and having a duller coat, Murphy's fur is quite vibrant. His base coat is a light cinnamon colour, with what would have been an off black husky marking stretching down his back, just over his shoulders, and across his head, slightly intermixed with his cinnamon base. But, as his mother was predominantly white, large patches of beige have taken over much of his body. There is a large beige splash on his rump and on his face, masking his eyes and muzzle. Only a small peninsula of black and a smudge of cinnamon stretch down from his forehead. His belly, chest, and throat, too are beige.

What most other rats notice first and foremost about Murphy, however, are the massive burn scars on his body. There are many more that have been covered by his fur growing in, but there are four that are too large to have simply been hidden. One on his left hind leg, being the largest, shows signs of still healing. There is another just behind his left shoulder, one crawling off his right shoulder and along the edge of his chest, and a smaller one creeping along his muzzle and between his eyes. All show signs of being relatively new, with some stunted regrowth.

Murphy's eyes, once a warm brown, have become a dull gray as blindness has taken over them. In his travels around the city, he has picked up a small loop earring on his right ear; made of a thick piece of wiring. Two small bands rest on each of his front paws, and are the pressed remains of scrap metal found in the local dump. Two necklaces, bound with old string and decorated with broken shards of red plastic hang around his neck.
