Cal had a fear of the echos in the sewers. It wasn’t because he was normally terrified – he was the rational one, thank you very much – but he was afraid for his own skin. What if the rats from the rebellion found him and recognized him as the “traitor” to their cause? He would most certainly be in danger then. So he had to keep moving. The multi-colored rat scurried along the passages of the sewers. Every echoing drip from the walls, every breath of wind that managed to slip into the sewers and then die with a long sigh – every motion made Cal jumpy, like he was afraid of his own shadow.
“Preposterous.” He muttered as he delicately avoided a puddle. He hated wet paws – it was already cold in the sewers, no need to make himself wet and cold. “I, Cal, servant of the King, afraid of my own shadow. Preposterous.”
Cal was very proud of his position as a servant of King Cane. He had never met the king, but had always wanted to. He held him in respect, and he also hoped that someday he would get to feed off of the king’s power and he would be safe then. Perhaps then his sister Blue would join him. She had been a true fool to stay among the rats of the rebellion. They didn’t know what they were doing. They were idealists hoping for something that they could never accomplish as a mob, which was currently all that they were in Cal’s eyes.
He shook his head from such thoughts. He was on a mission to go and gather some resources for those of the kingdom – metal bits, glass bits, things that the kingdom could use. He was eager to run any errand to improve how his reputation. Perhaps he while he was out, he would meet someone else who was a part of the kingdom as well. Not that Cal wanted to make friends – no, no, that was preposterous. He didn’t need friends – he needed admirers, associates. He needed to start creating his sphere of influence. Once that grew and he became respected, perhaps the king would notice him and would call him into his chamber. Then the king would be so proud of his loyal servant, who came from humble roots yet was so willing to serve, that he would —
Cal stopped when he heard a loud sound – rattling cans, perhaps? He slowly turned his head to face where the noise had come from behind him. “Show yourself!” He tried to call bravely, but his voice sounded more like a squeak.
Some brave and confident servant of the King he was.
((Ok, trying to actually be active here! Feel free to jump in and bother Cal! ^^))

The female was in no mood to chat, but when is she? The sound of water drops falling into the smelly waters were whispering at her ears, walking along the slippery pipes on fours. Attempting to stay on top of the pipes was impossible, but there was no other option. The rat's attention was brought to a loud squeak, Just what I need... thought the female.
Show yourself! Said the voice, Lizzie grimiced at the sound. Being so displeased with the presants of the other rat, she disided to pad her way to the rat. Lizzie's eyes showed her the male, she jumped from the pipe and landed by a group of cans. Rattleing of metal echoed through the sewers, she made herself visable to the other rodent. Lizzie's tiny paws were now wet, she didn't mind cold feet.
Its funny how some of the weakest rodents like to think they're all heroic... Thought Lizzie. She wanted to see exactly how "heroic" this male was, her nose twitched rappidly to the smell of the rat. The female wanted to prove to the male that hes not the confident brave rat he thinks he is, and if he didn't-well, she'll just have to make sure he gets the message mentaly and physicly.

Cal was surprised to see a small female emerge from behind a set of pipes. She walked toward him confidently, but her paws were all wet. He repressed a shudder - how could she stand such disgusting wet feet? He hated being wet, but he especially disliked his paws being wet. It was cold and the wetness on his green-colored feet bothered him. He shook his head to clear the thought from his mind and looked her in the eye. He could take any paltry female. Perhaps she was a servant of the king as well. There was only one way to find out.
"What are you doing, lurking in the shadows? If you have a task to complete for our King, there is no reason to hide and be secretive." Cal wondered if it was a good idea to refer to the king as "our King", as that would assume she did serve Cane, but he figured that it was the best way to remain covert and to figure out if she was a servant like himself. He held his head high, as though trying to look down at her. He did like having power and authority. "We must be proud of the work we do for our King."
He paused for a moment and then asked, curious, "What name do they call you? I am Calderon, or Cal, as many know me. Perhaps you have heard my name?" He tried to play the fame card. He wanted to see if he was indeed gaining any reputation as of yet.
((Sorry for the delay, got caught up in real world stuff. As a note, it would actually be funny if Lizzie didn't know him. Cal would be displeased. X3))

What are you doing, lurking in the shadows? If you have a task to complete for our King, there is no reason to hide and be secretive Lizzie rolled her eyes and laughed to herself, she admires lots of people. Other fighters, other tough rats. But not this rat, anyone but this rat. A task to complete for your King? she said laughing low in her throat. She continued to listen as he continued with his blabbing.
We must be proud of the work we do for our King Lizzie raised an eye brow to the male, I would too, if I even did serve the "King" she perfured just to address the Rat King as "the king." Lizzie gave the rat a grimace look, she was already displeased with this rat, now shes getting rather mad. Lizzie should take anger management classes.
What name do they call you? I am Calderon, or Cal, as many know me. Perhaps you have heard my name? Lizzie rolled her eyes again and responded I'm Lizzie, and maybe I would have heard your name she paused If I cared mumbled the rat. She might be acting like a brat but it could be so much more worse, she could have imiediately trunned away and ignored the male.
(Ooc: Done, sorry it took so long)
